1972 FIAT 500l
FIAT 500L
The previous yellow Fiat 500 was so characterful that we were missing having it around the workshop. Hence, this orange 1972 500L has just arrived! Again, it is a genuine UK right-hand drive car, that has very low mileage. This car lived in Glasgow for much of its life before crossing Hadrian’s wall to reside near Leicester, with it’s the most recent owner. It slept in their garage untouched for 14 years, awaiting a restoration which never happened and now joins us at Fostering Classics.
The car is remarkably solid compared to most examples, but in common with our previous example, there are some crusty areas that will need addressing. Fortunately, the car came with nearly all the genuine spare parts required to restore the body.
There is a substantial history file with the car, including it’s original stamped service booklet, as well as many previous receipts and old MOTs, which give us confidence that the recorded mileage of 45,000 is correct. The car originally had Zeibart anti-corrosion treatment in all it’s cavities and underfloor areas, which would help to explain why there is so little corrosion.
As well as being the Lusso model with its additional standard equipment, this example also includes an optional Motorola radio and mono speaker! It also retains its original Fiat toolkit and jack.
Our previous 500 sold within a day of advertising it, so if you are interested in this brilliant little car don’t miss it, please get in touch with us. You can follow it’s restoration and even reserve it!
